Nurse Life Care Planning and Medicare Set Aside Services

Life Care Planning

Life Care Plans are a tool utilized in determining damages in catastrophic injury and illness.  The Life Care Plan outlines and projects the costs of necessary medical services, supplies, and equipment, replacement and maintenance over an individuals life span.

The Life Care Plan should serve as a "road map" to ensure funds will be available to care for the individual over their life span.

The nursing process and nursing care plan is the foundation of a Life Care Plan.  The Life Care Plan follows the standards set by the American Association of Nurse Life Care Planners (AANLCP) and the nursing process.  The nursing process includes: assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation.

The Life Care Plan uses a collaborative approach with various health care providers.  The Life Care Plan is specific to an individual based on their needs and response to their particular injury.

A Life Care Plan should be considered for cases involving:

Spinal Cord Injury
Brain Injury
Birth Trauma
Burns
Amputation
Toxic exposure
Product Liability
Organ transplantation
Multiple Fractures
Trauma
Future Joint Replacement
Nerve Palsy
Chronic Pain
Cerebral Palsy
Brachial Plexus Injury
Visual Impairment
